Joel DeCandio is a New York based actor, musician, and music director. He has worked consistently with Tara Rubin Casting for the past three years—most notably on The Band's Visit and The Outsiders. In addition to his work as a pianist, Joel has performed frequently as an actor in New York, DC, and internationally. He was most recently seen as Jack Hunter in Tennessee Williams' The Rose Tattoo at the Tennessee Williams Theater Festival and in productions of Antony & Cleopatra with the National Theatre of Ghana and the Turkish National State Theatre. Previous credits include The Tempest, Cymbeline, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Twelfth Night at Folger Shakespeare Theatre. In DC, Joel served as music director and pianist for Signature Theatre's annual cabaret series. Additional credits include Torch Song Trilogy at Studio Theatre (dir. Michael Kahn) and the world premiere of Beaches at Signature Theatre (dir. Eric Schaeffer; Mary-Mitchell Campbell). Joel is creator and producer of The Sondheim Project. This fall, he will be returning to Canyon Ranch's Broadway in the Berkshires series with his solo show, Georgia on My Mind, featuring blues, jazz, and folk music.
