Joel DeCandio is a bicoastal artist living in NYC and LA. As a collaborative pianist and coach, he has enjoyed a steady place in the Broadway community over the years, coaching actors and playing auditions and rehearsals for several Broadway productions while working closely with Tara Rubin Casting. As an actor both in the States and internationally, Joel has been seen as Jack Hunter in Tennessee Williams' The Rose Tattoo at the Tennessee Williams Theater Festival and in productions of Shakespeare's Antony & Cleopatra with the National Theatre of Ghana and the Turkish National State Theatre. Previous credits include multiple productions of Cymbeline and A Midsummer Night's Dream as well as Fiddler on the Roof, The Tempest, and Twelfth Night at Folger Shakespeare Theatre. While starting out in DC, Joel served as music director and pianist for Signature Theatre's annual cabaret series; additional credits include Torch Song Trilogy at Studio Theatre (dir. Michael Kahn) and the world premiere of Beaches at Signature Theatre (dir. Eric Schaeffer; Mary-Mitchell Campbell). He is a graduate of the Rome School of Music as well as the William Esper Studio for Acting in New York City and studies voice with Darrell Babidge (The Juilliard School). Alongside Madeline Botteri, Joel is creator and producer of The Sondheim Project.
