JOEL DECANDIO

Joel DeCandio is a New York actor working internationally in theater and film. He has recently wrapped shooting on Tyler Rubenfeld's surreal feature, Planets and Jeremy Max's brutal 16 mm drama, Bleeder, produced by Scott Aharoni. He made his film debut starring in Kenya Gillespie's award-winning celluloid tone poem, Give (Special Jury Mention: Kashish Mumbai 2024; Best International: NRFF Amsterdam 2024), and his films have screened in competition at prestigious festivals around the world.

His work in theater includes multiple productions of Cymbeline and A Midsummer Night's Dream, as well as The Tempest, Tennessee Williams' The Rose Tattoo, Stephen Sondheim's Into the Woods, Twelfth Night at Folger Shakespeare Theatre, Listen to Me with Kathleen Turner, and Antony & Cleopatra with the National Theatre of Ghana and artists from the Ankara State Theatre of Turkey.

In 2025, his duo show with Bligh Voth, The Sondheim Concert, was recommended by Time Out New York.

Joel DeCandio is a member of Actors' Equity and the Screen Actors Guild.
